GroupServe Opportunities

Welcome to our “clearinghouse” of serving opportunities! In the GroupServe pull down menu, you’ll find the current list of Small Group Serving opportunities available in the church, community and the world.

Each of these pages will give you a look at how your group can get involved.  Either by signing up directly for specific events, or giving you an idea list where you can connect with organizations that LifePoint is affiliated with.  This list is provided to help you as a Small Group Leader encourage your group to engage in the third element of our Small Group Core Values: Deploying our gifts in the church and the world.

If your group volunteers and serves in any of these listed serving opportunities, feel free to add your comments, stories, experiences, etc. by simply clicking on the “comment” tab on the appropriate page. Your input will greatly benefit those considering the various serving opportunities.

If you have any general questions or comments, or if you know of other GroupServe opportunities that you’d like to see included, drop us a note at  lifesupportadmin@gmail.com

Our community group has been praying for an opportunity to serve together, something that our entire families can do together, where our kids can learn the blessings of serving. We had agreed that helping out for the Parent Night Out would be an opportunity for us to do just that!

The week of the event, Sandy sent us an email giving us a little history of each kid and preparing us for the evening. I must admit, as I read it, I started to have some doubts. I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility and was concerned that none of us were trained to deal with kids with disabilities and was worried that we had bit off more than we could chew.

I prayed for God to use me and help me to serve these families in a way that would glorify Him. WOW, God answered that prayer and so much more! Any hesitation I had, was quickly put to ease when I was greeted with those smiling faces and loving hearts. It was so cool to get to know each of the kids, so unique in their own way with one common thing: a heart for God!

We had so much fun, we played games, we did crafts, we watched a movie….most of all we enjoyed one another. I was so excited to see some of the kids that weekend at church – it felt like I had made some new friends!

Our community group decided not to have group that night, to serve together instead. I believe we experienced community together in a way we never have before. We were so blessed to have this opportunity and thank God for the privilege to get to know these families better! I personally think I received far more than I gave – only God can take a group of people – full of doubt and insecurity and turn that around to an uplifting time of fellowship for all.

Thank you HUGS families for sharing your families with us! It will be a night that we will cherish as a group!
